  • September 6, 2011: What would you do with $30,000? TSBC is pleased to announce the launch of a second application period for its 2011 Community Grant Program. The objective of this program is to bring products manufactured from recycled BC scrap tires "full circle" back to BC communities and to encourage communities to undertake projects that make use of recycled tire products. Applications are now available for download and must be submitted to TSBC by November 4, 2011.
  • June 30, 2011: TSBC is pleased to release its 2010 Annual Report.

  • May 16 2011:
    • TSBC is pleased to present its draft Stewardship Plan 2011-2016 as part of the five year plan renewal process required by the BC Recycling Regulation. You are invited to attend one of the consultation sessions being held at the end of May or you can provide written comments by June 30, 2011 to mhennessy@tsbc.ca. Please note the consultations sessions are now closed.
    • Tire Stewardship BC in partnership with the Bicycle Trade Association of Canada and the local biking community are proud to announce the launch of a new bike tire and tube recycling program on June 1, 2011. For more information, click here.
  • April 19, 2011: TSBC is proud to announce its sponsorship of the 2011 Victoria Bike to Work Week. Bike to Work's mandate is to encourage and promote the use of the bicycle as transportation to work. TSBC's connection to this event is, in partnership with the biking industry and local biking coalitions, a voluntary bike tire and tube recycling program will be launched on June 1 2011.   • April 18, 2011: Notice of Public Consultation. You are invited to attend public consultation meetings for the mandatory five year review of Tire Stewardship BC's product stewardship plan. A copy of the draft plan will be posted on this web site and the consultation web site in the coming weeks.
  • March 8, 2011: TSBC is pleased to announce the launch of its 2011 Community Grant Program.   • June 30, 2010: TSBC is pleased to release its 2009 Annual Report. In accordance with Part 2, Section 8 of the Recycling Regulation, on or before July 1 in each year, TSBC is required to prepare an Annual Report for the Ministry of Environment for the one-year period ending not later than March 31 of that year or December 31 of the previous year. The purpose of the report is to provide details on the effectiveness of our Stewardship Plan during the previous fiscal year of operation.

  • June 2010: With the introduction of HST on July 01, 2010 a new ADF Return form has now been released for ADF Returns starting June 2010. Please click here to download a copy of this form and the bulletin that provides some important messaging including HST information. We have received some calls with questions about the HST and its applicability for the June ADF Return. Please note that the HST due on the June ADF Return is a CRA requirement, this is not a decision arbitrarily taken by TSBC.
  • April 29 2010: TSBC is holding tire round-ups in 6 locations across the province during May and June. Please click here for a list of the dates, times and locations.
  • April 26 2010: Tire Stewardship BC has partnered with all the product stewards in BC to produce an Industry Product Stewardship brochure that is a one stop shop document on the key features of each stewardship program in BC. It is available for download here or you can contact us if you would like a hardcopy.

  • Effective May 1 2010 the Advance Disposal Fees will also apply to tires on vehicles imported from the US. Click here for more information
